Conducting an Interview

Write an eight (8) page paper in which you: 1. Review the resume and cover letter you received for your job posting in the Week 8 discussion. Identify from the resume a minimum of three (3) top qualities from the candidate that you believe will add value to the organization. Explain why. 2. Indicate the interview type you will be using. Hint: Review the article “Types of Interviews”, Briefly explain why you selected the interview type you chose. 3. Create the interview form for your interview questions. Use the job description from Week 7 Assignment 3 as a quick reference to begin writing the interview questions. At a minimum your form should have 3 questions each from the following areas: (1) Questions to assess cultural fit, (2) Questions to assess leadership, and (3) Questions to assess communication skills. There should be nine (9) total questions. 4. Explain how you might go about selecting the best candidate after interviews are complete. Next, what procedure could you use if no candidate seems suitable after interviews are completed? Be specific. 5. Briefly state your case justifying the overall strategic importance to organizations to recruit, select, and hire top talent. Appropriate buzz words might be: value added, competitive advantage, etc. 6. Format your assignment according to these formatting requirements: a. Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions. b. Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required page length. c. You must cite the resources you have used to complete the assignment. Note: There is no minimum requirement for the number of resources used in the assignment.
